Asha workers sat on strike along with their children

Asha workers on Friday bring their children along with them to sit alongwith them in the strike which enters 27th day in Vadodara. They offers to give 1000 rupees to the government for raising their children if they are unable to resolve their issues. However on the request of the collector the ladies drink water but not ends their fast.

Asha workers in Vadodara are on fast unto death pressing their demands for equal salary equal work and many others inside the collector office. Some of them sit on fast unto death from 2nd October and continues it till government resolve their issues. However on Friday the Asha workers bring their children along with to join them in the strike.The collector office also approach them and convince them to drink water and promise them to forward their demands at the high level. The SDM helps some of them drink water and end their fast but the Asha workers said they continue their agitation till their demands are met.

"The government is not listening to us and hence we bring our children along with us to handover them to the authorities. We proposed to give 1000 rupees to them to raise our children as they are not listening to our demands for the last so many days. The authorities requested us to drink water which we accept but our agitation will continue till our demands resolved. We also warn the government for surprise programmes in the coming days," said Chandrika Solanki leader of Asha workers.

The SDM Mahipalsinh Chudasma said they send their demands to the higher authorities and request them to end their fast.
