Arunachal Pradesh: In a new twist to the Arunachal Pradesh crisis, CM Nabam Tuki resigned, a few hours ahead of the floor test on Saturday. Nabam Tuki’s resignation paving way for the nomination of 36-year-old Pema Khandu.
Pema Khandu met Governor Tathagata Roy and staked claim to form the next government in the state. He also claimed having the support of 45 congress MLAs and two independents.
Ahead of floor test on Saturday in the Assembly, the Congress Legislature Party has decided to change the leadership from Tuki to Khandu. Tuki resigns as the Congress Legislature Party leader, Khandu unanimously elected as the new CLP leader.
Nabam Tuki-led Congress government was dismissed following days of turmoil after 21 of its 47 legislators rebelled against the CM.
