Animal activists caught alleged cow meat from Khatkiwad area in Vadodara

Eid is just couple of days away and before that on Wednesday morning the animal welfare activists along with the police protection caught 700kgs of alleged cow meat mixed with others in sensitive Navayard Khatkiwad area of Vadodara city. Around 17 animals were said to be saved by the team during the raid. Later VMSS health department team sealed six shops selling meat and further investigating.

As per the details animal activist Neha Patel received a tip about cow and other animals meat was sold in the Navayard Khatkivad area on Wednesday morning. She along with other activists Prakash Sheth, Ankur Doshi, Vaman Bharwad, Lala Bharwad took the help of Fatehgunj police and raid the said area.

Neha said during the raid they found four horns of cow and also meat from the spot. Later her team saved around 17 other animals from there. She further said that recently there are reports of cow theft from the Sama and Chhani area and investigation is on to trace them. She also doubt about the same animals being killed and sold here.

Market Superintendent of VMSS health department Dr. Vijay Panchal said their team reached the spot after received the message about recovery of cow meat by the animal activists. They sealed around six shops and recovered around 700kgs of meat from there and send the samples to Surat FSL for confirmation.

A complaint was registered in the Fatehgunj police station and further investigation is on against the shop owners selling meat.
