Emergency helpline number are given to students in school which have different helpline number are skewed is the United States. The suicide helpline was printed on the back of a student badge by new Vista Middle School in Lancaster, USA. However, the helpline had a sex line number instead of two numbers that were wrongly written.
When a student dialed the number, the call in the sex line was swollen. The student’s guardian Jenne Levell said, “When my daughter dialed the number, she was informed of the neglect. The school needed to check once in the regard. In such cases, it may be possible for students to get help when they really need it.’
The incident at New Vista Middle school said in a statement, “The matter has come to our notice late last evening. The Suicide hotline number printed on the card is incorrect. This is because of the double-digit omission. The number printed is the number of the sex line.”
After the parents were informed, several questions have been raised against the administrative system of the school. After the incident, the school provided all the IDs. The cards have been withdrawn and the decision has been made to print new ID cards.
