The alarm went off in Delhi saved the gold worth Rs 20 crore kept inside the Muthoot Finance branch near Maneja crossing in Vadodara. The robbers tried to break the shutter and as a result the sensor in the window became active and alert the office at Delhi.
An employee immediately rushed to the spot after the message which made the robbers to fled from there.
The alarm saved the people’s hard earned saving in gold kept inside the bank. Similar attempt attempt was made to rob Ajwa Road Muthoot Finance Branch in October 2018. The robbers broke in and looted customers’ mobiles, however they escaped after the siren blowed.
Suketu Joshi, Branch Head, Muthoot Finance, said in his complaint that they have operating a branch at Sai Samarth Complex near Maneja Crossing since 2010. The branch has an internal digital security system and after office hours the sensor detect any movement and alarm goes off at the head office in Delhi.
He received a call from the vigilance desk about the alarm had gone off due to movement near the sensor at the branch neaeby Maneja crossing.
So he asked a employee living near the branch to investigate and heard a noise there. They informed the police about the incident. The branch head also reached and checked the CCTV to found the robbers tried to broke the window grill which sounded the alarm of the sensor. Later they tried to broke the main gate shutter but fled as the employee arrived.
Makarpura police has registered the case and further investigating in the matter.
