Social activists here on Tuesday paid tributes to late Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalitha.

At a meeting organised by the River Connect Campaign at the Etmauddaula view-point park along the Yamuna, Central Hindi Institute Registrar Chandra Kant Tripathi said that she was a tall leader and “though leader of a state party, had national vision and worked for the welfare of all sections of society”.

After the special aarti of river Yamuna, campaign members observed two minutes’ silence for the AIADMK chief, who died in Chennai late Monday after a prolonged illness.

Senior journalist Shashi Kant Upadhyaya said that everything that Amma did had her stamp and style boldly imprinted.
