AFWWA CONDUCTS FREE MEDICAL AND HEALTH CHECKUP CAMP AT MOTI SHIHOLI GANDHINAGAR

A medical and health checkup camp was organized by Air Force Wives Welfare Association (Regional) under the aegis of its President Baljeet Arora. The camp was for the residents of Moti Shiholi Village, Gandhinagar with a purpose to conduct medical and health checkup of villagers with for general ailments and suggest measures to prevent water borne diseases during rainy season and promote hygiene.

The camp also included the Pap smear for the screening of cervical cancer and breast cancer screening in coordination with Indian Red Cross Society. Lectures were conducted by Medical representatives of Indian Air Force to encourage them to lead a healthy life. Baljeet Arora emphasized the need to conserve water and ‘go green’ towards which tree plantation was also carried out.

AFWWA has been functioning with the main objective of providing assistance to families of Air Force personnel and civil society. Over the years, it has contributed immensely towards promoting welfare of Sanginis, providing assistance to underprivileged, taking care of special children and helping war widows in resettlement besides working towards women empowerment.

Baljeet Arora has taken number of initiatives to promote the welfare of underprivileged of the society in the South Western Air Command Area of Responsibility which include adoption of villages, conduct of medical camps, go green campaign, save water campaign, Swachh Bharat and others.

The camp was well received by the villagers and they appreciated the noble initiative by AFWWA (R).
