Warn violators for strict action under Epidemic Act

After the three new positive cases in Vadodara the district administration is strictly implementing the lockdown and appeal people to stay indoors for their own well being. Only Essential commodities are allowed to operate and people are requested to follow the call or else strict action will be taken against the violators under Epidemic Act.

Giving details district collector Shalini Agrawal said, SSG hospital gets the Corona testing facility and from today it will be operational. Out of six positive cases five are from Srilanka group and people came in contact with them. All of them are quarantined and continuos monitoring is carried out by the doctors. Out of the 27 samples collected in Vadodara six are tested positive and rest 15 are negative. 35 people are in Quarantine and additional ventilators are kept ready at the medical facilities for patients.

Further capacity building is carried out in hospitals like additional beds, doctors, staff, nurses and medical professionals to accommodate the patients. The administration is is constant touch with the dairies, grain merchants, vegetable and fruit vendors about the essential commodities and they give positive response about availability of items in lock down.

Presently isolation beds are 180 and 622 quarantine centres or places. But the administration is in the process for capacity building to increase ventilators, doctors, medical staff for the patients. As of now 31 people are under institutional quarantine and 850 under home quarantine. The VMSS, police and Revenue teams collectively doing the stamping on the people being isolated and posters are pasted outside their homes as precautionary measure.

Shalini Agrawal further said that one resident doctor is under isolation as preventive measure after some visible symptoms. She also request people and groups not to distribute masks without the permission of health department. As it is not a good practice to gather people in such situation.

Police is also strictly implementing the lockdown and detaining vehicles in various areas of the city. Act 144 in implemented all over the city and district and all the 11 checkposts are sealed in view of the lockdown.

Inspite of the lockdown order people are going out of the house unnecessarily and police detained their vehicles. Strict advisory is issued for strict action against the people moving out from their houses unnecessarily.

Education Secretary and special officer to Vadodara Dr. Vinod Rao said to violate the lockdown and home quarantine is serious offence and action will be taken against the violaters under Epidemic Act. He also said the Gotri hospital will be make ready as infectious hospital to accommodate patients.

Municipal commissioner Nalin Upadhyay request people to stay at home. He said there teams are involved in spraying, fogging, fumication and cleanliness in the city. 3800 people coming from foreign countries are screened by the health teams.
