ADG NCC visits group headquarters Rajkot

Major General Roy Joseph, Additional Director General, NCC Directorate Gujarat, Dadra & Nagar Haveli, Daman and Diu visited Rajkot to carry out the Annual Inspection of NCC Group Headquarter, Rajkot. The General Officer was briefed by Brigadier SN Tiwari, Group Commander on various NCC activities being conducted by the Group which covers the districts of Rajkot, Junagadh, Surendranagar & Bhavnagar.

Brigadier SN Tiwari who has recently assumed command of the Group as its 28th Group Commander assured the Additional Director General that the Group is committed to achieve the Key Result Areas spelt out by both him and the DG NCC and in doing so, shall endeavor to accomplish excellence in all phases of NCC activities. An important aspect deliberated was the new NCC Academy coming up at Mavdi at an estimated cost of Rs 45 crores.

The General Officer also visited the training area of 2 Gujarat Girls Battalion NCC, Rajkot where on display were the recently acquired 0.22 Walther KK 500 Expert Rifles & 0.177 Feinkerbau 800x Pro Right Medium Black Silver Rifles (approximate cost Rs 50 lakhs), which shall greatly augment the firing skills of the cadets. He later felicitated cadets of the Group for their achievements and also had a formal interactive session with the ANOs and GCIs at DH College, Auditorium.
