Action has been taken against Talati of Dasharath village for not providing information under RTI. Gujarat Information Commission Commissioner ordered Talati Vipul Chauhan to pay a fine of Rs 10,000 for failure to provide information.

Dasharath Gram Panchayat had given approval for construction during the year 2005. For the same Vapulbhai Chauhan, Talati of Dasharath Gram Panchayat, did not provide the information sought by the Bharuch applicant under RTI.

Meanwhile, the petitioner had lodged a complaint with the Gujarat Information Commission. During the hearing, Talati gives explanation about being down with Corona pandemic and asked for further 15 days. However, even after the clear order of the Gujarat Information Commission, the Public Information Officer did not provide the information in time and no action was taken on the application.

The commission held Talati Vipul Chauhan responsible for failing to provide information considering the whole matter and imposed a fine of Rs 10,000 under section of the Information Officer Rules.
