Today on 11th June 2016 Gujarat first Chief Minister Anandi Patel inaugurated the project of Shiyal Bet –an island village in which electricity will be provided to 603 families in village through four 100kv substation & 6.4 km undersea cable.

For more than 68 years after Independence, Shiyal Bet, an island in the Arabian Sea off the coast of Rajula-Jafrabad in Amreli district remained deprived of electricity.The village is just 1.5 km from Pipavav Port.

Today, because of the determined and pro-people approach of the BJP-led state government, government have been able to illuminate the lives of dwellers of the last dark corner of Gujarat by successfully laying 6 km long submarine cables, Asia’s longest, at the cost of Rs. 18 crore with the help of Paschim Gujarat Vij Company Ltd. (PGVCL).

Anandi Patel felt proud to share that now there is no place with human population in Gujarat without electricity.

Ckp_EUoUYAAT_UAShe also inaugurated high school and health sub- centre at Shiyal Bet and distributed energy efficient LED bulbes under UJALA Yojana.

Alongside, CM Anandiben Patel dedicated development and public welfare works worth at Jafrabad in Amreli district that includes regional office, new buildings of Adarsh Nivasi Kumar Shala, Government Boys Hotel, Girls Hostel and Model School at Rajula as well as Arts & Commerce College at Jafrabad.

Anandi Patel said that their government is committed to improve the lives of the people even living in far flung remote areas.
