ABVP demanded for a digital way to student election at JNU

The environment of JNU campus is getting hot day by day due to upcoming student's body elections at Jawaharlal Nehru University at Delhi. BJP student’s wing ABVP (Akhil Bhartiya Vidhyarthi Parishad) has demanded for the EVM machines by replacing the tradition ballot papers for elections.

The world is using the digital way for voting. This is unnecessary and not a feasible idea, when all over the world switching to electronic and digital means of voting, Saurabh Sharma, the lone member of ABVP from JNUSU said in a letter to HRD minister Prakash Javadekar. The letter was also sent to the Union Environment Minister Anil Dave, the JNU Registrar and the dean of the students.

For the elections at JNU, every year lots of paper is being wasted by making ballots at elections. So at seeking for digital world, the procedure also changes with time and elections should be taken with a digital way using EVM machines.

Noted that the JNU students elections are held every year in the month of September in which students used to vote for their representatives for different posts.
