Hansal Mehta’s popular web series ‘Scoop’ is set to return with its second season. The new season is expected to arrive in February, with production already underway. Unlike the first season, the upcoming instalment will feature a completely new story, setting and set of characters.
The first season of Scoop, which premiered on Netflix in 2023, was inspired by crime journalist Jigna Vora’s memoir ‘Behind Bars in Byculla: My Days in Prison’. Karishma Tanna played the fictional character Jagruti Pathak, whose story revolved around journalism, crime, the police and the media world.
For Season 2, Mehta is reportedly turning Scoop into a broader journalism-focused franchise rather than continuing Jigna Vora’s story. The new season will not feature a continuation of the first season’s narrative, and details about the new characters and storyline are being kept under wraps.
