State Bank of India (SBI) has advised customers to complete important branch-related banking work in advance as a three-day nationwide bank strike is scheduled from September 28 to 30, 2026. The strike has been called by the United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU).
The strike comes immediately after the fourth Saturday and Sunday, September 26 and 27, which are regular bank holidays. As a result, customers could face disruption in branch-based banking services for five consecutive days, from September 26 to 30. SBI has advised customers to complete essential transactions and documentation before the strike period.
SBI has also suggested using ATMs, Automated Deposit and Withdrawal Machines (ADWMs), Customer Service Points (CSPs), Internet Banking, YONO, mobile banking and UPI for services that can be completed digitally. However, services requiring physical branch assistance may be affected depending on employee participation in the strike.
Customers are therefore advised not to wait until the last moment for urgent branch-related work and to plan their banking transactions accordingly.
