7th day immersion passing off peacefully in Vadodara
On 7th day of Ganeshotsav various mandals in Vadodara gave emotional farewell to the Lord Ganesh and invited him to visit once again next year. The 7th day visarjan saw people dance to tunes of DJ and traditional dhols under the sharp eyes of police and security forces. With everyone's relief the day passed off peacefully without any untoward incident happened in the city.
7th day is considered to be the rehearsal for the final day visarjan on Anant Chaturdashi when thousands of idols were immersed inside various lakes inside the city. On the 7th day all eyes are specially on the Juni Gadi Ganpati as the procession passing of from various sensitive areas. In the past incidents of rioting happened during the Juni Gadi Ganpati procession and every year it's a challenge for the police to look after the security.
Since 1948 the Juni Gadi Ganpati was installed with devotion in the Panigate area. Every year the organisers worship the Lord and in the 7th day gives emotional farewell to the Lord Ganesh. On Thursday this year also the Juni Gadi Ganpati procession passing of peacefully from the areas with strict police bandobast all along the route.
Top police officials present all along the route to ensure the security measures be followed strictly and with hi tech equipment kept eye on the procession from air and through CCTV cameras through the control room. This year to ensure communal harmony Muslim leaders welcomed the procession and present a beautiful example to all.
Youth in big numbers joined and dance along with the procession and it passed of peacefully from the sensitive areas to reach Mandvi. The police had a sigh of relief as the Juni Gadi Ganpati procession reached the spot without any untoward incident happened.
The 7th day is considered to be the rehearsal for the final day visarjan on Anant Chaturdashi. Various other Ganpati mandals also give emotional farewell to the Lord Ganesh on the 7th day with DJ and traditional dhols. The security was tighten up all along the routes and specially near the lakes where the immersion take place. The cranes, swimmers all helped in immersion process at the lakes.
Due to the visarjan traffic was also diverted to ease the procession passing off peacefully.
