The 6th edition of Vadodara Marathon Registration has touched 30,000 Figure and India’s Top Corporates endorses Vadodara Marathon.
The countdown for 6th Edition of Vadodara Marathon which is scheduled for 5th February 2017 has begun and from this year onwards Vadodara Marathon has been declared Full Marathon (42.195 Kms). The organisers have received overwhelming response from National and international runners besides local participants.Vadodara Marathon has been ranked amongst the leading marathon run in the country. Procam International has recognized Vadodara Marathon as one of the rising star amongst the marathon run’s in India. India‘s Sports Minister Vijay Goel has announced its full support to this year’s Opal Vadodara Marathon.
This year Vadodara city will experience its First‘Full Marathon (42.195 Kms), Half Marathon (21.89 Kms), 10 Kms run, lnox Divyang Run8 Kms, Linde Swachhata Run -5 Kms, and Alembic Pledge Run (to show support for NGO’s) 5Kms. The prize money of Rupees 1 Lac Will be given to record winners of Full Marathon (Male & Female). Besides this Divyang and other category winners will also be rewarded with 1 Lakh prize money in total.
Vadodara Marathon have already crossed around 30,000 registrations with the support of NGO’s, Schools and colleges, Religious organizations, the armed and police forces. The closing date for the registrations are extended upto 22nd January 2016About 200 foreign runners from Canada, UK, African countries are there for the full marathon. The Full Marathon and Half Marathon run will start form Navlakhi Compound.
Vadodara Marathon has always spearheaded with the motto of “sports with seva”. The organization has also tied up with Helpyourngo.com. This will help the local NGO’s to spread their wings worldwide.
This year we have already registered around 2000 Divyang runners for its lnox Divyang Run 8Kms. Run compared to previous years 1500 runners. The run is also Vadodara’s first cashless Marathon and the message is also spreading through out the race.
This year the organisers also introduced to give finishers medal to everyone who finished the race in every category. The ambassador of Vadodara Marathon Irfan Pathan welcome all Barodians to run and make it a sport. Sports and Cultural Minister Rajendra Trivedi said that the Marathon runs with a cause and it’s a good thing.
