First 100 vaccinators selected for the first day after joint meeting of Vadodara Municipal Corporation and Sayaji Hospital

Covid is a highly contagious disease and in the midst of the risk of infection the medical staff has performed their duties in patient care without fear. In appreciation of their services and for their safety, it has been decided to start vaccination on the first day at Vaccination Center of Sayaji Hospital by commending the front line corona warriors who have set an example by continuously serving in the Covid Ward.

Dr. O.B. Belim, Administrative Nodal Officer, Covid Treatment Facility, informed that the list of the first 100 beneficiaries of the first day was prepared in the meeting of the Joint Coordinating Committee of Sayaji Hospital and Vadodara Municipal Corporation held on Wednesday. He said that these are the people who have performed their duties in the midst of the risk of infection and therefore the first choice of all of them to provide the vaccine protection cycle as a front line corona fighter.

In this selection, doctors, nursing staff, support health workers and servants / cleaners, the service personnel of the four main cadres have been selected proportionally. Many of these warriors suffered from covid while serving and recovered and returned to care Corona patients.

Checking the list of beneficiaries on the first day, it appears that there are more than 60 female corona warriors, including 14 female doctors, in the first hundred to be vaccinated. Which shows that the female form of mother power has contributed to the fight against the deadly Corona without falling behind. Dr Belim also says the number of women in the health care sector is about 50 per cent.

In Sayaji Hospital Vaccination Center all necessary arrangements have been made as per ICMR and S.O.P. prescribed by the Department of Health, Government of India. It including waiting room, registration room, vaccination room and observation room where the vaccinator will be kept under observation for 30 minutes. Those who have been selected for the vaccine will be informed by the corporation through SMS.

Based on this SMS at the Vaccination Center, the data of the beneficiary will be extracted and they will be allowed to be vaccinated by valid identification through valid evidence like PAN card, election card, passport, i-card. An ambulance will also be deployed here so that any vaccinator may be taken for immediate treatment if he or she finds any side effects. However the turn to use it will hardly come.

In addition, specialist doctors from various branches of the Adverse Events Following Immunization Committee (Aefi) will be present at the venue so that they can treat the side effects if needed. This arrangement has been made as part of full vigilance. This precaution is essential for vaccination to remain a safe procedure.

Informing that there are two cadres in the Corona ward, front row and secondary row, he added that personnel from four core departments of Medicine, Anesthesia, Emergency Medicine Care and Pulmonary Department have been selected for vaccination in this front row. People from non-core groups will then be vaccinated.
