50% companies forced to close on Monday due to waterlogging

Nearly 50 percent companies inside Manjusar GIDC was forced to closed after the water entered inside from river-ditches and ravines flowing nearby. Employees coming for their first shift jobs were forced to return home and the night shift employees were stuck.

The river, ditch and ravines were flooded following heavy rains in last 24 hours. The overflowing water entered inside the Manjusar GIDC from back side and the main roads as well as the internal ones were flooded.

About 50 per cent of GIDC’s small and large companies were shut down due to flooding. Employees heading for jobs in the first shift could not reach their company due to flooding roads and returned home. The situation was difficult for the night shift employees to come home in the morning as the areas inside was waterlogged.
