The sudden death of 25 to 30 crows in mysterious circumstances in Vasantpura village of Savli taluka has caused panic in the area. The mysterious death of the crow has sparked speculation about bird flu may have taken its toll.

Around 30 crows died under mysterious circumstances in Vasantpura at Savli taluka, on Thursday evening. Amidst bird flu scare the incident created panic in the area with rumors mills are running to full. The village youths have collected these dead crows and buried them in a pit filled with salt.

While the people of the entire region are now worried about the spread of bird flu. According to Alpeshbhai Rai, Sarpanch of Vasant Pura village, about 30 crows died in mysterious circumstances in the evening. However they have buried the crows but there is a panic among all in the area.

On the other hand, according to district panchayat sources, 30 crows fell from the tree behind the sarpanch’s house at Vasantpuragam in Savli taluka on Thursday evening. A team of veterinarians, livestock inspectors as well as veterinary research unit of Hod district panchayat reached the spot. In coordination with the Forest Department, the dead crows was packed in ziplock polyethylene bags, placed in a thermocol box between the ice cubes and sent to the High Security Animal Disease Laboratory in Bhopal on Friday morning in person.

Meanwhile, under the guidance of District Development Officer Kiran Zaveri, District Chief Health Officer Dr. Uday Tilawat and Dr. P.R. Darji held a video conference. It was mentioned that 34 teams will visit poultry farms in 8 talukas.

Medical officers and veterinary officers will have to coordinate and report appropriate action at the district level. In addition, every veterinary officer will have to keep a close eye on the poultry farms in his area.
