Sooji Halwo (Suji no Shiro – Semolina Pudding) is traditional Gujarati Sweets, which mostly made during, any festival or any occasionas or celebrations. Sooji halwa is quick and easy to made sweets.

Semolina pudding also used as prasad specially in “satyanarayan katha”. We mostly made sooji shiro as prasad or any festivals. It can serve with Gujarati Thali also. Cardamom powder with desi ghee makes tastes awesome. Many people served it with fruits like banana, peach, apple.

Ingredients

  1. 250 gm Sooji (Rawa - Semolina)
  2. 200 gm Desi Ghee
  3. 200 gm Sugar
  4. ½ liter Milk
  5. 2 tbsp Milk cream
  6. 10-12 Almonds (finely chopped)
  7. 1 tsp Cardamom powder

Instructions

Heat ghee in a pan and add sooji in it.

Roast it in ghee till it become light golden or smelling it.

Add milk, milk cream, and sugar and stir fast.

Cook at a slow flame.

Cook till bubbles are not seen.

Then add cardamom powder and stir well.

Garnish with almonds.

Semolina Pudding is ready for serve.

Notes

You can add water instead of milk. Also add milk cream.
