district administration and university authorities for their help and coordination
After Assam
now 17 students of Ladakh studying in MSU left for their home in a bus from the
university on Wednesday. They thanked the administration, university
authorities for their safe return to their homes during the challenging times
of lockdown.
Under the guidance of District Collector Shalini Agarwal the district administration in coordination with Ladakh administration and MS University, paved the way for 17 Ladakhi students studying in various faculties to return home. The students left by bus today with joy and relief. The district administration is getting very good cooperation from the nodal officers appointed by the state government in sending the students from other states who are currently on vacation and wants to go home.

and Deputy Collector RP Joshi said, “The university had requested for
proper coordination so that these students could return to their home state.
Based on that the collector office contacted the Ladakh administration and
appropriate passes were issued to the students”. Joshi further added that
earlier the state government did not have permission to send anyone to Assam.
But later District Collector get special permission for the students and send
them to their state.
“We did
not face any problem in campus during the lockdown. I thank the university on
behalf of all the students for taking care of us in every possible way,”
said Norfal student from Ladakh. Another student from the Arts faculty said
they were very safe on campus and thanked the administration and university
authorities for providing very good facilities and help them reaching their
home.

Kanwal of MS University said, during lock down they managed their hassle free
stay in the campus, taking care of their food and other requirements. We do not
ask any student to go home, But when they express their desire to go home they
have coordinated their safe journey.
So far more
than 200 students have reached home safely by bus or other vehicles, labour special
trains. Masks, hand gloves, sanitizers, food packets, water have been provided
to these students. They are still coordinating to send students from Manipur
and Uttarakhand with very good cooperation from the district administration.
