130 beds in GMERS Gotri and 500 Bed Dedicated COVID Hospital in SSG functional from Monday

Continuing the efforts to increase facilities for Covid 19 treatment in Vadodara, Dhanvantari Rath started working in the city from Monday. In addition 130 beds on 4th Floor of GMERS Hospital Gotri have also functional to accommodate the patients.

Giving details Officer on Special Duty Dr. Vinod Rao said, he did briefing of Medical Officers and team of Dhanwantari Rath on Monday. Total 17 Raths have started working from today in High Risk and Vulnerable Areas of the City.

Each vehicle will have a Medical Officer, Laboratory Technician and Auxiliary Health Worker. Each Rath will station in identified 4 locations every day which makes it total 68 locations by 17 Raths each day.

These vehicles will do screening, take blood samples, dispense medicines and if needed refer to Hospital for RTPCR sampling. They

expect about 1 lakh people to directly benefit from Dhanwantari Raths each month. In addition 130 beds on 4th Floor of GMERS Hospital Gotri have started functional. Dr. Rao took rounds of the facility and made suggestions for final preparations.

Dr. Rao also visited SSG Hospital where 500 Bed Dedicated COVID Hospital is ready and will be put to use from Monday. 100 Bed ICU with 50 advanced Ventilators and other equipments is available at the hopsital.

Pediatric ICU in this building is presently isolated and separate entry and exit is ensured to prevent risk of cross infection. Had meeting with Private Hospitals empaneled for COVID Treatment. Discussed how to improve services and increase number of beds.
