Heavy rains in Baroda, Garba venues and low lying areas waterlogged

Heavy rains on Tuesday night proved too much for the garba revellers in Vadodara as they have to return back home disappointed. The heavy rains forced the garba organizers to stop the Garba midway as rains lashed the city.

Vadodara received 1 inch rain while Karjan and Shinor received 3 and 1.5 inch rain. The meteorological department predicts more rains on Wednesday which is not good news for Garba enthusiasts.

Due to heavy rains the low lying areas in the city was waterlogged. The sudden heavy downpour forced the Garba organizers to stop and shut down the sound systems to protect them from water. The Garba enthusiasts also left the venues disappointedly to protect themselves from heavy rain.

Local flood control said that from Tuesday night till Wednesday morning Vadodara received 22mm rains. While Karjan received 81mm, Shinor 32mm, Padra 3mm, Savli 21mm, Desar 6mm, Dabhoi 18mm and Waghodia received 18mm rains.

With around 1inch rain in Vadodara last night the garba grounds are waterlogged and the organisers are trying to flush out the water from the ground. As more rains predictions is for Wednesday the organizers are in delima to ready the ground for Wednesday.

If there will be no rain on Wednesday the organizers might spread more soil on the wet ground to dry and make it ready for the Garba.
