14 people killed as bus collides with truck in Sikar’s Fatehpur

At least 14 people died while several others were injured when a public transport bus collided with a truck while overtaking another bus on NH 52 in Fathehpur area of Sikar district on Wednesday morning.

Critically injured people were admitted to a government hospital in Sikar for treatment. The mishap occurred near Rohalsahabar on Bikaner – Jaipur highway around 8. am said sources.

Sikar district collector Naresh Thakral visited the hospital in Fatehpur and announced a compensation of Rs 50,000 each to the kin of deceased victims, while Rs 10,000 to those who were injured in the accident.

According to the local police, the bus was carrying more than 30 passengers and was on its way to Jaipur from Sardarshahar in Churu district of Rajasthan. Rescue teams including police, paramedical and medical forces are ordered to rush to the spot said Naresh Thakral.
