In nationwide lockdown when there are complaints of violations
coming from everywhere, here is a example set up by Vaso Taluka in Gujarat
where 13 villages self imposed the lockdown in their areas. The initiative is a
inspiration of others when there is lots of efforts going on to contain the
virus.
Kheda district administration is working hard to spread the awareness in people to follow the lockdown rules, maintain social distancing and not move out unnecessarily from their houses. However people are not taking it seriously and often seen violating that rules which also increased the burden of police to maintain law and order.
Vaso Police station PSI Girirajsinh Parmar find a easy way
and implemented the theory to involve the youths of villages to secure their
areas along with the police under PPP model theory. The idea was readily
accepted by the village sarpanchs and elders it put the village security as top
priority.
All the 13 villages falls under Vaso taluka takes the
responsibility of the security of the their people against deadly Coronavirus.
They put barricading at the entry exit points and guard the villages as per
shift. One police jawan is also there with them to make nothing goes wrong.
SP Divya Mishra welcome the motivational step by the
villagers and said the help from the people is needed to swiftly implement the
lockdown order. Both of them work together to defeat the virus and the other
villagers also implement such initiative to stop spreading of virus in the
Kheda district. He also thanked all the sarpanchs and leaders of all villages
of Vaso Taluka for their help to implement the lockdown effectively.
Rashmi Vyas from Vaso said the police asked for their help
during the lockdown and after the
meeting with the sarpanchs, it is decided that the youths will take care of the
security of their own villages. From then the youths are working in shifts to
guard their areas and locked the entry exit points to prevent any movement from
outside.
Another leader Jitubhai from Vaso village said, the security
arrangement is implemented in Vaso, Pij, Gangapur, Rampur, Bamroli, Tundel,
Degam, Jarol, Valetava, Palana, Mitral, Dantali and Dawada villages. No one
from other villages are allowed to enter without permission and everyone is
extending their support in the initiative.
The youths takes the responsibility on their own and
maintaining the social distance while taking guard of the points. They allow
people and vendors coming for selling vegetables and milk after sensitisation
at the entry points. No one is allowed inside unnecessarily and if needed the
person was called to come outside on the road to meet the visitor.
The initiative takes burden from the shoulders of the police
and the villagers are taking care of their own safety.
