Vadodara crime branch raided a house in Sonal Vatika society on Ajwa Road area of the city on Monday evening and found 13 lakhs cash in the denomination of newly introduced 2000 rupee notes and others total of 19.67 lakhs in cash.

The police also found liquor worth 21,690 rupees from the house of the bottleger. Police arrested the accused and informed the Income Tax department about the cash recovered from the house.

City crime branch recieved the information about one Sahil Sureshkumar Goyal residing in Sonal Vatika society is stocking foreign liquor for the upcoming 31st December. The accused was ordering the consignment of Rum and Beer made in Maharashtra, New Delhi and also from countries like France and Mexico.

Crime Branch raided the house of bottleger Sahil Goyal and found 91 bottles of liquor worth 21,690 rupees. Further searching the house police shocked to see and found lakhs of cash kept inside a bag.

Police found 650 piece newly introduced 2000 rupee notes worth 13lakhs and other currency of 100 (6000), 50 (1000), 20 (500) and 10 (700) rupee notes all total upto 19,67,000 rupees.

Police questioned the accused Saahil Goyal about the 13 lakh cash in the denomination of 2000 rupee notes but failed to get any answer from the accused. The police arrested him along with the cash and liquor and Informed the Income Tax about the cash recovered from the accused.

The common people found it difficult to get enough cash from the banks nowadays after the demonetisation. But in this raid the crime branch found huge cash from the bottleger's house is a matter of investigation and the police registered the case in Bapod police station.
