In view of the cyclone Nisarg threat in Gujarat, a total of 12 rescue and relief teams of 06 BN NDRF have been deployed in the coastal districts of Gujarat and Union Territories. These troops are equipped with state-of-the-art rescue equipment to tackle any emergency situation in the areas.

Each of our teams consists of 25 to 30 rescue personnel and are trained to handle rescue operations in various types of disasters.”

The teams are equipped with variety of equipments and tools like cutting devices to remove trees, poles, debris, which have been damaged by cyclone. The teams have satellite phones, satellites and internet to connect in any situation, equipped with variety of lights, two rubber boats, signal equipment and conventional equipment useful in relief operations.

The latest Deployment Details of Teams in respect of Cyclone is as follows:-

In Gujarat- 13 Teams have been deployed and out of which 10 Teams are in-

1) Navsari- 01 T
2) Valsad- 02 T
3) Bharuch- 01 T
4) Surat- 01 T
5) Anand- 01 T
6) Kheda- 01 T
7) Gir Somnath- 01 T
8) Amreli- 01 T
9) Bhavnagar-. 01 T

Three teams kept as Reserved, 02 teams at
BHQ Vadodara and one team at RRC Gandhinagar. Two teams of NDRF are deployed in the Union Territories of Silvassa and Daman as told by R.K. Mishra deputy commnadent and PRO 06 NDRF Jarod.
