243 safe deliveries, transport 5881 Covid patients to hospital
Gujarat government has started 108 emergency medical services under the umbrella of GVK EMRI to provide timely medical aid to the patients, injured and in case of emergency rush them to the nearest hospital for further treatment. By 2020, 243 women successfully delivered after been rushed to the hospital on time by the 108 staff.
Medical services are being carried out continuously to patients in Vadodara city and district by108 ambulances equipped with 28 facilities and staff. 2020 was the year of the Covid crisis in which the service has done multiple useful life saving work in Vadodara city and district through the integration of continuous and timely medical help with great devotion.
Informing about this, the program manager of Vadodara 108 said, our service continued its dedicated work amidst the increasing challenges due to Covid. In the year 2020, a total of 57762 emergency cases were attended by the team where patients and injured were provided the necessary first aid, essential care and advance coordination with the hospitals. This includes 936 cases of Police Emergency and 04 cases of Fire Emergency.
With safe deliveries in service vehicles in 243 cases during this year, the service personnel have performed their duty of saving the lives of mothers and newborns through amazing punctuality and timely decisions. During the year, 14365 cases of pregnancy were treated by the service.
The program manager said that the service has done a great job of providing medical assistance to the affected people in the case of Covid suspicious cases and Covid positive cases. Taking all precautions as per the guideline irrespective of the risk of infection in the disease, 5881 Covid patients were rushed to the hospitals and 5993 people with suspicious symptoms underwent necessary medical examination and assistance.
During the year, in 3897 cases of shortness of breath and in 1825 cases related to heart disease, 108 Vadodara did a great job in getting the affected people to the hospital for immediate treatment and hospitalization. They also attend more than 10,000 calls at 104 telephonic helpline.
2020 was the year of the health crisis. In a new and unpredictable, contagious disease environment, 108 services faced new challenges. Vadodara 108 has set an example of good performance through teamwork. While this disaster is not over yet, 108 Vadodara is committed to continue the exercise of dedicated service in the year 2021.
