Well known animal activist Snehal Bhatt died in sleep last night leaving behind her husband and son. She died of natural death and was not suffering from any ailment. She recieved a heart attack in the sleep and couldn't wake up in the morning.

Snehal Bhatt known as Indian Cobra girl had a mastery of catching Cobras, Pythons, Vipers. She was associated with Gujarat Society for prevention against Cruelty to Animals (GSPCA) for years and rescued animals for the last 30 years. She rescued every type of animals which includes nearly 300 crocodiles from in and around Vadodara city.

She was a social worker who work for 24 hours to rescue these snakes. In a rare tribute, the National Geographic Channel has made a stunning film on this amazing animal activist who stays far away from the arclights preferring to do real work that has little time for publicity.

Bhatt and her volunteers have rescued thousands of snakes and released them in areas far from human habitation. Snehal also needs the villagers’ help in stopping the snake charmers destroying venom glands ultimately kills the snake.

In 1993, she founded the Gujarat Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals [GSPCA]. Aided by a group of nearly hundreds of volunteers, she runs this from her home in Vadodara.
